I really don’t know what’s more appropriate to follow a mantitty poll but galtitty. Wow. And I would never have guessed from this cover that it’s a fantasy romance. I was thinking more futuristic disco with zero inhibition. (Alternate title suggestion: Honey, You Shrank My Hoodie) Let’s see, what do we have here? Via the author’s blog:

The eldest daughter of a clan of perfumers, Alithia must secure her family’s endangered livelihood by retrieving an ancient relic in the fabled north of the neighboring mountain realm. But the rules and tradition of Hurranni society forbid her from making the journey alone. Alithia must take a shield pair as husbands.

With many competitors vying for her hand, Alithia proposes a contest: those who can best pleasure her, wins. The victors are Taith and Phelan. Two strong and able men from an unknown clan, their own beliefs play havoc with the woman they both want. As two societies are joined in a tenuous union, their quest begins.

As emotions run high and ecstasy runs wild, Alithia, Taith, and Phelan are bound to together by the dangers of the journey, by a clash of cultures more intense than they ever imagined, and by a twist of fate that will change their lives forever.

Ancient relics are necessary for the perfume business to thrive? Now this I gotta read, because not only are there relics, but ecstasy is running wild. This is like saying that a herd of cheesecakes is stampeding its way towards me. I suspect the blurb refers to something else, but along similar, thrilling lines. Releases December 1, 2o09 from Berkley Heat.

    H’s are sooooo…sexy? Hhhhot! Ohhhhhh! But I digress. *g*

Eyre, perfumers make perfume, or I’m guessing so. Whodda thunk they’d need an ancient relic for the biz? Oh yes, something is up here.

That makes sense. I just wouldn’t have thought it’d be a clan/culture. I might have to check this one out.

I love the sound of this book! Makes me want to stop work on my one man/one woman story and dive into a menage (figuratively speaking of course:)

But December?! Yet again KMont torments us with things we can’t have NOW.

    *dreams*

See, I’m really confused about what genre this book fits into. Initially I thought romantic fantasy, then after reading about the way the heroine decides to pick her shieldpair (and IMO if you’re going to retrieve an ancient relic, which I doubt the current holder will hand over with a smile, then your shieldpair should be better with a sword than with ‘their sword’…so to speak :) I thought erotic romance. Then there is the hint of menage, but I didn’t think Berkley Heat published menages…. *confused*

And no, I’m not being deliberately snarky….just overly logical!

Berkley Heat seems to be their oomphed up romance line, Orannia. I’ve seen other romance titles from them that were more along the erotic side. I do agree that it’s not always clear what they’re producing for what line. Maybe the lines sound too similar. Berkley Heat, Berkley Sensation, etc. I’ve seen some Sensation titles (or at least I think I have) that seemed racier, more erotic, yet Sensation is the line that Singh’s Psy/Changling series is under, too. So I have no idea how to really identify their titles based on what line they’re in.

All that and I’m no help lol!

And now that I’ve seen the cover, all I want to do is take the heroine to a lingerie store. WAY too logical today :(

Does not appeal to me and the cover would not make me want to buy the book. But I don’t think I’m the market it’s aimed at.
