Holy Purchase!

2008 August 19

I’m purchasing my next read based not on its back blurb, nor it’s hype, nor it’s screaming cool cover (which, thank gawd, for once is not red or blue)…

I’m doing it all for the series number labeled on each one.

That’s right, this series labels each book which one in the series it is. See it? HOT DAMN.

After that bit of shock, I’m definitely reading it for all the other reasons listed above. I’ve been contemplating this one for months upon months. It’s time for some weather, be it stormy, fine or in between. Lay it on me weather warden. Now the only Q is will it be going to the Carribean with me in November or will I break down and read it beforehand?

What say you, Blogoshpere? Is this one too good to wait to read once I have it in my hot hands?

OMG! I sooo wish all publishers would do that. And heck yes, I’d buy it, just b/c it’s listed as Book One.

LOL, I know it’ll sound crazy to some, but I really had been thinking about reading this for a looooong time. And that label, Book One, that sweet, sweet label has sealed the deal for me.

*cups hands to each side of big mouth*

Ya hear THAT, publishers? Label your dang series books!

    Pretty please.

I almost bought this at the USB the other day. Yep, noticed the Book One on the cover. I decided I’d find out just how many books are in the series first, 7 so far with Caine working on 8. I like the premise just not sure if I want to start another series. lol

I just stated the series, too!

I loved this book, but be warned, she cliff-hangs her endings!

The good thing, seven books are out and you don’t have to wait.

But if she cliff hangs the seventh? I haven’t heard one way or the other and trying to avoid spoilers.

I would suggest not taking it with you, unless you have, or can wait, for book 2.

Do it, Leslie!! Start another already long and involved series! Muuahaaa!

USB? Is that supposed to be UBS? :D

Misscz, I appreciate the warning. If it’s a well-done cliffhanger, I don’t mind. Harrison has wriiten those a couple of tiumes for Rachel Morgan, but it was so well done that I was foaming at my mouth for a year. I shall hope it’s like that for these books. ;)

But maybe I will read it before vaca then. Thanks!!

LOL – you are a bad influence. I’ve already added numerous books to my TBR pile because of your reviews. And I’m thinking of getting HBO just so I can see True Blood – your influence again. : )

USB *rolls eyes* yes, it’s suppose to be UBS. Somebody must have switched my BS keys on me. ; )

Oh, Man! I LOVE this series! I just read Gale Force which is book 7. You know how you’ve talked about the Kim Harrison books and the way she just keeps ramping up the tension? Well, these books do that too. I *heart* Rachel Caine. :)

Kmont, Thea raves about this series and has sent me the first three books a few months ago. I have yet to read them though *is ashamed* but she luuurvs them.

Leslie, always glad to be such a bad influence lol!

Kaitlin, thanks!! I feel your enthusiasm. I’m going to get the first today…well, if the store has it.

Ana, I knew one of you had read and loved this series. I need to see if Thea has done some reviews.

Lys, thanks! And YA is def back in my reading spotlight lately. I will blame Meyer lol.

Lesley, cool. I love and love a good urban fantasy couple. Are their interactions of the sexy variety? :D

Seriously one of the best series out there! I Loved it and still re-read it regularly!!!!

Oh PS I love that she puts what book it is I just hate that the publisher changed the covers around book 5 or 6. So now my books don’t match.

    Say wha?

    *goes to Amazon*

They did stop labeling the books with the order number! CURSE you, publishers!!!

I vote for “right now”. I’ve had this book on my shelf for months. Give me a reason to shift it to the top of the stack.

Jen, will do – when I get the book. I went to the bookstore right down from work today at lunch to get Ill Wind. They didn’t have it but they DID have book 2. So I bought that one. Because I’m pathetic lol and would’ve hurt myself had I read the first, gone back to get the second and it not be there. Sad, I know, sad.

  17. 2008 August 20

KMont – Yes LOL – well eventually. I do have a review for Ill Wind, but I think there may be slight spoilers there so you may want to avoid.

I must get reviews done for the rest of the Weather Warden series.

  18. 2008 August 20

I’d say go for it now, Kmont. I want to hear what you think of them. :) I blew through the first six and just got book 7 for my bday, so I’ll be giving it a go soon.

Lesley, thanks for the warning. I may still check it out though. :)

Angie, will definitely let yall know what I think about it lol. My inner gab mechanism just won’t quit.

  20. 2008 August 20

Oh no. Like I need to pick up another series like I need a hole in my head. Or my wallet. Or both.

Do I blame kmont? Or her friends? Or both? ;)
