Want a Faefever Excerpt?

2008 July 8

Oh man, of course you do. I bet you went Pavlovian on me, didn’t you?

Click here for part 1 and here for part 2. Special thanks to Phade memebr Highlander for smacking me with the heads up. This is exactly the way I like to be smacked as a matter of fact.

And here we thought, due to a recent Moning newsletter, that this would be the long hot summer of nothing much new in Feverlandia. Hot damn, I do believe the outdoor temps just rose a bit more. Many thanks to Karen M. Moning for being so generous with the excerpts!

When the HECK was this posted? How the HECK did I miss it? WOW, I was right the darn book is sentient!! That’s the feeling I got at the end of Blood Fever. I can’t believe we got such long excerpts though…

Hils, I was all resigned to NOT getting any news on Faefever this summer, what with Moning taking a vacation (and very understandably so). The woman is pure deviousness lol!

I’m still reading through the excerpts. But MAN, is it GOOD!

Kmont, if this book is as short as the other two, she gave us the whole darn first chapter! I’m just reading the darn thing over and over again… this is just soooo evil!

I know!! I am amazed that she would give fans or anyone this much of a preview. *mops drool*

OMG! Thank you. I don’t check KMM’s MB very closely, so I would very probably have missed this. First chapter and already we have a big revelation: the book is sentient. Wow. And the prologue gave us a little overview of what would happen in the rest of the book. What exactly happens between Mac and V’Lane? Who is the woman Mac kills? And whay does Jericho do??

Stay tuned for the next episode…

I don’t check her boards very often either. Maybe I should from now on lol.

That line about some part of V’Lane piercing her tongue..I am almost disgustedly curious! It doesn’t sound pleasant…but is it sexual? The human animal in me wants to know. :D

Keeping track of Mac through a tongue piercing… Hmmmm! yummy…. Mac 3.0! Here. She. Comes!!

I check KMM’s Board weekly for info, but I gave up for the summer after the Newsletter. Big. Mis.take! Oh, well… will go back to stalking the board.

I still don’t think the McKeltar boy’s going to be part of a trio of men for Mac, though. I think he’s represent’n his clan here, and wants to use Mac, but I didn’t get any sparkly feelings between those two. Not like with V’Lane and Barrons.

Can’t wait to see if any of my other theories are any good… I have a list a mile long, LOL!!

Mac 3,0, lol!! Too funny, Hils. :D

I LOVE your theories on the books too! It’ll be fun to look back after we’ve read the book and see what you got right. The book, now that thing scares the mess out of me. I think Moning is clearly going to be a better writer to many readers after this book. Her words give me the creepiest tingles.

    Must… resist… must… not… read

Damn you Kmont, you evil temptress! I can’t read that because then, if Faefever is short, I’ll feel like I’ve read half the book already! I avoid the Merry Gentry excerpts too for that same reason.

I gave up trying to keep up on KMM’s message boards because those people are just waaaayyyyy beyond me. I swear they notice and REMEMBER every single detail from every Highlander and Fever book AND put all those clues together to come up with theories. How do they DO that?!

Hell, I got all excited the other day because, while listening to the audio book of The Immortal Highlander, Adam mentions that Drusten and Dageus’ descendent, Christopher, is also a Druid. Which, in my mind, probably means that his son CHRISTIAN is a Druid too. The regulars on the KMM MB would probably roll their eyes at me for not realizing that before. DOH!

I still say that the May newsletter excerpt refers to Mac kissing Christian, though.

LOL, Bev. You sound just like me. I just cannot retain all the details anymore. I try my best to remember the really intricate stuff for a review, but c’mon girl, we read way too many books to be able to all the time and I’m betting you’re a really busy person too. I really WISH I could retain that much stuff too, but I am no good at it and just had to accept it. Only way I could? Write it all down lol. Notes, I WAS good at taking notes in school. :D

But MAN! How can you resist those excerpts?! It does seem like we get ALL of the prologue and ALL of chapter one. *g*
