Plagiarized Much? The Year’s New Fad.
Plagiarism could possibly be the new fad for ‘08. JK. It’s nothing new, at all, yet it certainly does deserve to have attention called to it and that’s why I admire the much more ballsy blogging efforts of the ladies at Smart Bitches and Dear Author. So lo and behold, it was indeed no surprise whatsoever when another scandal reared it’s ugly head.
I was first alerted to this newest bunch of flaming moronic retards, the EDson Financial Group (link to their EBay review listings) through Ramblings on Romance. EFG is literally going about, mainly through Amazon spotlight reviews it seems, and blithely plucking up reviews and posting them as their own on EBay. Hello, unethical much? What is it with asswipe jerkwads and this kind of stuff? Oh, forgot – they go together like ogres and mud (wait, I think I just insulted Shrek).
And I’d meant to check through their long list of stolen reviews to see if by chance any of mine had made their selective cut (in which I honestly laughed at myself – who would want to swipe some crap I’d written?) but the holiday came up and family still wins out over a review I may have written months ago.
So I happened to check out my Amazon reviews yesterday morn, cuz even though I only post ARC reviews there now, I just have to be a goob and see if anyone has left nasty/nice comments under mine and yep there’s a very helpful warning from a fellow Amazon reviewer that my review for Mine to Possess by Nalini Singh has indeed been swiped by the Dickheads Of Ebay Reviewing. Soooo…I contacted EBay first thing Monday morning, and also the Fucktards of nonReviewdom, EFG, both of which I’ve yet to hear from. The Amazon reviewer gave me a helpful VERO form to download that I can fax into EBay (their only solution so far) but I thought I’d give the direct message contacts through EBay a try first. It appears though, that most folks trying to get their individual stolen review problems solved are running up against the big, corporate whoa-is-me crap in which places like EBay claim they have no way to help people, or at the very least, efficiently.
BULLSHIT, EBay, bullshit.
So, EDson Financial Group, while I’m just enormously flattered that you took the time to swipe the first review you saw for Mine to Posess, mine, you, sirs, are nothing more than a bunch of pansey assed thieves and crooks.
This is their official intro page online, which leads you to their illustrious den of reviewing iniquity. Must be nice being labeled a Top 100 reviewer when you can simply steal the work of others to get you there. Bravo, EDson Financial Group, you really know how to make asses of yourselves. You get the Asshole ‘08 award for your unfailing efforts at complete fucktardom.
If you care to check and see if one of your reviews has been stolen by EFG (as many others have found to be the case), you can do a page-by-page search via their EBay link above or enter the name of a book you’ve reviewed here.

Holy crap Kmont, how sleazy is that! They didn’t even bother to change one word… they just copied, pasted and took credit for the whole thing! I hope you give them hell…
LOL, bet they’re real proud of themselves too. Seriously. Clearly, some folks do not trip amongst us normal folks here in Reality.
Glad you’re spreading the word!!! Ebay’s really pissing me off with their ‘response’ to this.
As of now, their review count is down to 218. eBay has removed six of the plagiarized reviews so far.
Kegsoccer, sorry for the late reply. And this post was the least I could do. Every little bit will hopefully help.
Jennifer, that’s good to know, and good for you for taking such a proactive stance with all of this.
Hello kmont,
I would like to sincerely apologize for plagarizing your reviews, not to mention the theft of many others. I apologize for any inconvenience that was caused to you, and to anyone else as well. I bluntly admit my faults and mistakes that were caused and would simply like to say sorry. For the record, EDson Financial Group (EDFG) was merely a temporary legitmate business operation, albeit somewhat unethical. Furthermore, as a Canadian student aged 20 residing in Montreal, Quebec, I didn’t know any better. Once again, I sincerely apologize.
Best Regards
EDson Financial Group
