Magic Gives – The Head-to-Head Round

2008 May 30

‘Kay, folks, it’s time! Meant to have gotten this up last night, but we all know how it goes. I’ve picked two of the submissions and can’t wait to see which one wins! Thank you to everyone who participated. And without further ado, the submissions up for the Magic Gives Head-to-Head Round are…

Rylie and Lilly K!

Rylie’s submission:

I was looking at the profile pic on Ilona’s blog, and I’ve decided to go the Monty Python and the Holy Grail route and suggest “bunny”. Imagine — Kate says “bunny” and an adorable, fluffy white rabbit immediately appears and lures the enemy into a false sense of security. It then proceeds to pounce upon the enemy and decimate it in a vicious attack. Quite efficient, really.

Lilly K’s submission:

This is a new series for me so I haven’t read them. Not sure if Kate is ever physically threatened/attacked with weapons, but if she is, she’d say “remove” and whatever appendage or body part the attacker is using to hold the weapon would be immediately severed from their body.

Why these two? I do happen to be a closet MP & the Holy Grail fan and the innocuous little bunny attacking just kinda jives with my sick sense of humor. :p

And Lilly K’s kinda appeals to the sick sense of humor too. I guess I’m just sick all around!

So which do you feel would make the better “word of power” (scroll down a bit to the original contest post for a brief explanation on those) for Kate? Let me know in the comments section, purty please and I’ll announce the winner hopefully later tonight or tomorrow. Kthx!

The bunny one cracks me up. Can you imagine if that was the new weapon against the bad guys? A killer white bunny! LMAO.

‘Remove’ could prove to be quite useful. Although I’d hate to see Kate accidentally use it on Curran and have a certain important body part (like they’re all not important?) disappear before she gets to take advantage of it, you know?

I think ‘Bunny’ is right up Ilona’s alley in the humor department. I can practically see her using it in the series somehow! She totally rocks at interjecting humor in just the right doses at just the right places. If anyone can make the power word ‘Bunny’ work… it would be Ilona. So I vote for ‘Bunny.’ :D

As a long time fan of Monty Python I have to go with bunny. Also, cause bunnies kinda scare me a bit. Saw a movie when I was a kid about giant mutant rabbits attacking people. Scared the crap outta me.

Giant, mutant bunny movie…that sounds familiar. Night of the Lepus perhaps?

I ran across it when I was younger too, maybe on the SciFi Channel extra late at night, when even they hide the truly dumb stuff they’ll show sometimes.

I think that concludes the contest though–so it’s official!

The winner is Rylie for the “word of Power” – Bunny!

    Congrats, Rylie!
