Disturbing Things This Way Come

Word to the Wise: The following trailer is very disturbing. As in holy shit, wince, eye scrunching disturbing. M. Night Shyamalan’s latest thriller, The Happening (June 13), IMO, is going beyond what I thought of as his “light horror” usual. Not that I can look away or anything. Or even stop playing this 38 second trailer over and over to catch something I missed. It’s gruesome, it’s violent and it makes me want to hurl at some parts. I’m not into horror, but I’ve enjoyed most of what Shyamalan’s produced.
Still want to see it? Click below and then tell me if it’s as disturbing to you as it is to me.

What the heck was that?? I had to look at it twice. It’s…it’s…hypnotizing. And I wtched it without sound so it wouldn’t scare me too badly, LOL!!! If the trialer is that gruesome, I can’t even think of what the whole movie will be like. **shudder**
Hilcia, I’ve been informed by one friend that I’m a prude for finding this disturbing, lol. Told me I needed to watch more horror. :D Srsly though, I may not watch anything even remotely suspenseful after this one for a while.
Saw this trailer and now I want to see the movie. Very scary and spooky. Hope the trailer is not a lie and the movie scares the ever loving hell out of us! :D
Trailers seem to always show the best parts. Surely this movie has some other “good” parts as well. We’ll see!
I avoid horror movies like the plague. But I’m kind of surprised this is a M. Night Shyamalan movie. I’ve seen most of his and I wouldn’t put them in a horror class, more like suspense. But this is one I think I’ll pass on. Pretty gruesome trailer! And Kmont - if you don’t like horror - don’t think the answer is to watch more of them *g*. I’ve managed just fine without them all these years.
I hear ya Kristie, and I seriously doubt I’ll ever watch that much horror in my lifetime. But Shyamalan’s stuff just really intrigues me for some reason. It’s not always great (Lady in the Water was a bit of a disappointment) but I dunno, maybe it’s the imagery and the way he portrays the stories.
I had to stop myself from hiding behind my fingers throughout the damn thing. I can’t stand horror - I hate being afraid, and blood scares me unless it’s inside a well-functionning body (and therefore hidden). But because it was M. Night Shymalan, I decided the trailer was probably worth watching. It was. But NO FUCKING WAY IN HELL I’M EVER GOING TO WATCH THAT MOVIE. Even if someone was paying my ticket, juice and jumbo pop-corn for me. I say it because I know my ex is going to try to coax me into going to see it with him. It’s so totally his type of movie.
*shudders*
Mary, I don’t blame you. In fact, I highly doubt I will see this in the theater, but rather will wait for it on DVD. I’d rather be at home when I scream like the girl I am, lol!
Got chills watching it. I’m not a horror movie fan. I like the Resident Evil movies cause I want to be Alice, lol. But I don’t like SAW type movies. I’m with you on this one KMont and will wait for the DVD.
I watched this last night before I went to bed. :(
I was going to go and see this with my friend, but until last night I’d only seen the PG13 trailer and must admit to being a little confused as to how it was going to get an 18 rating (UK’s rating). I don’t think it’s actually been rated yet though.
Not so sure I want to go and see it now. I’m all right if these things have happy endings. But if this isn’t resolved I’m not sure. I’m intrigued as to how the disappearance of the bees links up to what’s happening.
