Hump Day Bonus! Regency Freebies

2008 March 5

Happy Hump Day!

Ugh, yeah, let it just pass a bit quicker than hump days are known for. What am I complaining about though? It’s a bit chilly outside, but otherwise it’s set to be a sunny, blue skies smiling at me kind of day. So yeah, Happy Hump Day! Hope everyone’s having a good one. *taping corners of mouth up into smile mode as I type*

Let me tell ya, it is hard to find bonus material on a historical romance author’s site (as in it usually doesn’t exist). Not that info on the books themselves isn’t supreme enlightening kewlness, but again, people enjoy extra incentive sometimes. So for all you historical romance luvahs, hopefully you’ll find some of the following helpful as well as enlightening/entertaining.

Wow, and I do mean a heartfelt wow to author Gaelen Foley for her info-packed site. For those interested in some of the history that inspires this best-seller, click here to read several essays and entries on anything from a typical Regency home to excerpts from real wills made during the time (and some be quite funny too!). Then, hop on over to her glossary, where if you’ve ever been confused on what a portmanteau is or what exactly the Adams style is in regards to architecture, you can find out there. Then there’s her links page to round it all out and I’d say you have a pretty good, organized starting place for Regency research. And I dunno about yall, but sometimes just figuring out where to start your research is daunting enough.

And that’s all for today folks. Short and sweet. As I hope this work day will be.
